The HERTZ project aims at exploring and developing a design and technology platform for wireless systems for the “ambient living” in different application areas within the scope of ambient assisted living.

IQUADRAT is in charge of energy saving mechanisms in wireless systems, so that the energy efficiency of the Access Point in WLAN systems is targeted, together with ZigBee cooperative communications that will be proposed and implemented in order to decrease the amount of consumed power in the ZigBee nodes. IQUADRAT is WP leader for the dissemination, standardization and demonstration work package.
